What’s the difference between the knowledge of God and knowing Him?

The Psalmist tells us that creation itself cries out that there is a creator. (Ps.19), and the apostle Paul tells us in Romans 1 that we are without excuse when it comes to the knowledge of God. But knowing about God and knowing Him are two very different things.

I like rugby union, but it took me a long time to figure out all the rules of the game. A (now) long time ago I was asked to play in a game that I was a spectator at. Believe me when I say that watching and participating are two very different things.

Someone who knows about God is very different from someone who knows God, and He has called us to know Him intimately. He sent His Son so that we could know Him, and His Son died so that we could be reconciled to Him. Because of that God has not only bridged the gap between Himself and us, but He has adopted us into His family. FAMILY KNOWS FAMILY – INTIMATELY.

Get to know Him, not just about Him.
